About an 8-minute walk away from Terminal 21. Nearest train stations are Asoke BTS and Sukhumvit MRT. Themae is I think one of its kind pickup bar in Bangkok with 100 or more freelancers on busy days.
It’s located at Sukhumvit Ruamchitt Plaza Hotel basement. You can’t miss it if you walk past the area especially in the evening from 8pm onwards. Because there will be quite a few freelancers standing outside trying to get customers. These freelancers standing outside are likely ladyboys because ladyboys are not allowed into the Thermae Cafe for work. On the opposite side of the road is Korea Town, where there are some Korean restaurants.
Once you enter the place, you’ll be guided to get a drink at the drinks counter first. They have a typical beverage menu at a bar, there’s beer, water, etc. Drinks cost around 170 THB IIRC. There are working ladies standing all around the bar. You’ll see customers walking in a circle.
You can take your time to a walk around or even get a sit and enjoy your drink. If anyone catches your eye, you can just walk up to them to talk and ask for more information and try to make a deal. All free and easy and you can stay as long as you like with a drink. I’ve never been chased out before. There is no mamasan around like in go-go bars to push you to get drinks or get a girl or whatnot.
Generally for ST, the asking price is 3000 THB for 1 hour, and for LT, 7000 THB for a few hours, etc. These are freelancers so it’s up to you how you want to negotiate prices or timing.
Toilets are all the way at the back. It used to be free for use but now they are charging 20 THB.
Timings and crowd
They are open everyday. Opening hours are 8pm to 2am. Busiest days are Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Busiest hours are 9pm to 12am. There could be about 100 or more working ladies at during peak hours on busy days. It’s not a big place so it can get quite packed at those times.
