You’ll need to get a drink to get a seat. A drink typically costs around 200 THB.
At this point you can relax, enjoy the drink, the music, and the view. Most have one or more stages where groups of girls take turns to go on and dance or just bob to the music.
There might be some girls that are referred to as PR girls; they don’t go on stage. They usually hang out at the entrance and are usually quite attractive and wear more compared to ladies that go on stage. Ladies that go on stage usually wear very little, they are mostly in bikinis.
If you’re interested in any of them PR or not, you can either inform the mamasan or you can get the attention of the girl and let her know you would like to get her a drink. Each working girl will have a number tag on them for people to more easily identify them.
At most go-go bars you only need to buy the girl 1 drink to get the girl to come sit with you, some places require a minimum of 2 drinks to get started. Some of girls might straight up ask for 2 drinks when they come sit with you. I’ve seen them getting a coke and something else like a shot in those cases. You could either oblige or reject, insist on 1 and make a bad first impression. I’m just kidding haha. Do what makes you happy and what you’re comfortable with. Some of them or very persuasive. Each lady drink is about 220 THB.
Taking a girl out, bar fine
Check with them . To take the girl out, there are 2 for the lack of a better term “packages”. ST where you get 1 - 2 hours with the girl 3000 to 5000 THB and LT where you get 4 hours or more for 7000 to 8000 THB. This is the fee for the girl. On top of that there is also another fee which is the bar fine of about maybe 500 to 700 THB. Some places might need you to get a minimum of 2 drinks with the girl before you can her out. If it’s not convenient for you to take her back to your hotel or place, there are ST hotels nearby. The girl will likely know to take you there. These might cost around 300 THB for 1 hour.
Best timings and crowd
Opening hours are 8pm to 2am. A handful close at 3am. Busiest days would be Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays. Busiest hours are probably 10pm - 12am+. Not sure why but people like to visit what I would consider to be already quite late at night. On busy days and hours at popular go-go bars there could be as many as 80 girls and the place would be packed. Quite a sight to see and honestly feels very exciting to be.
Like any bar you would be expected to order more after you finish the drink or if you’ve been at the place for some time without drinks, if not you might be asked to get the bill and leave by the mamasan there.
